Global take on business and economy news
Provided by AGPA senior Kremlin foreign policy official stated Wednesday that the two leaders plan to exchange views on a wide spectrum of global developments as part of Putin’s ongoing trip to the Chinese capital.
Reports said Moscow and Beijing also finalized agreements tied to joint energy cooperation during the visit. In addition, officials indicated that both sides reached understandings on what was described as “something very important,” though no further details were disclosed.
The Kremlin official was also questioned about the possibility of another trip to Moscow by US envoy Steve Witkoff. According to reports, the envoy has repeatedly signaled interest in returning to the Russian capital, but no official schedule has been confirmed so far.
The official added that any future visit would be coordinated directly between Moscow and Washington, with both governments expected to determine suitable timing through diplomatic channels.
“Since this is a bilateral exchange, it is an issue to be resolved on a bilateral basis. One side proposes, the other agrees, proposes alternative dates, or agrees to the proposed ones,” he said. “This is a normal diplomatic process.”
