Global take on business and economy news
Provided by AGPSpeaking during a briefing in Beijing, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov accused Zelenskyy of obstructing diplomatic progress and said Kyiv’s rhetoric continues to fuel tensions rather than encourage negotiations.
“Again and again, we hear militant statements. These are not the kind of statements that would help create an atmosphere favorable to moving toward peace negotiations.
“This once again underscores and proves who is the main obstacle on the path toward a peaceful settlement. It is Zelenskyy and his regime,” he said.
According to reports, Peskov stated that the Russian military would respond to any threats originating from Kyiv, while maintaining that Moscow still favors a negotiated resolution to the conflict.
“Moscow remains open to a peaceful path of settlement. It is the preferred option for us,” he said.
The Kremlin spokesman also commented on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s ongoing visit to China, describing the trip as productive and focused on substantive discussions.
