Emails Reveal Long-Standing Ties Between Emirati Businessman, Epstein

(MENAFN) Disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein maintained contact for years with a prominent Emirati businessman, continuing well beyond his 2008 conviction for sex offenses in the US, according to reports.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, chairman and CEO of Dubai-based logistics company DP World, was among the influential figures who corresponded with Epstein following his imprisonment on charges including procuring a minor for prostitution.

Emails reviewed by reports show that bin Sulayem sent unusually personal messages to Epstein. In a September 2015 exchange, he referred to a renewed relationship with a foreign exchange student in Dubai in “intimate and boastful” terms.

The correspondence indicates the two men shared business and political contacts, explored potential deals for one another, and discussed personal matters. It also shows bin Sulayem frequently mentioned visits to Epstein’s private Caribbean island and offered support when Epstein considered developing a private resort.

Bin Sulayem and DP World did not respond to repeated requests for comment, according to reports.

Documents further suggest that Epstein had connected bin Sulayem with individuals in his network for years, including New York real estate investor Andrew Farkas, who may have introduced the two. Emails also reveal that bin Sulayem planned to attend a marina opening near Epstein’s private island in 2007. A spokesperson for Farkas said he acknowledged his relationship with Epstein was business-related, expressed regret over the association, and condemned Epstein’s crimes.
